A recipient of five prestigious International and four National flagship fellowships, Najia Mir is an award-winning broadcast journalist and documentary filmmaker with over 16 years of experience in journalism. She serves as a prime-time current affairs anchor/producer and Assignment Director at KTN News, one of Sindh's leading media networks, where she has led special assignments and conducted thousands of interviews nationwide. At Voice of Sindh, Najia hosts the flagship show Story of Indus Civilization, highlighting regional culture and heritage, and leads youth-focused initiatives. Her documentaries on environmental issues, child marriage, flood-affected communities, and child abuse have earned national and international acclaim.
Najia is the former Executive Director of the Sindh Literature Festival, where she promoted literary dialogue and cultural exchange. She is a Goodwill Ambassador of the International Human Rights Commission for women and youth. A dynamic public speaker, she regularly appears on talk shows, panels, and conferences, advocating for social justice, human rights, and religious tolerance. Holding master's degrees in Journalism, English Literature, and Business Administration, she has earned distinctions throughout her academic and professional career. Najia is an alumna of the East-West Center (Hawaii), Deutsche Welle (Germany), Internews Europe, the U.S. State Department's IVLP program, and the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ, bringing a global perspective to her work and advocacy.
